If you decide to be our guest for a worship service, here are a few things you can expect:
First, we will be genuinely glad that you are here. SHF is a friendly church. You'll be met by smiling faces as you come in the main entrance. You can relax during your visit because we never ask guests to identify themselves during the service. There is no expected dress code so wear whatever is comfortable for you. You'll see people in jeans, t-shirts, dresses, and maybe even a tie or two.
Second, we will be prepared for your visit. Our meeting begins at 10am and lasts about an hour and a half. The words to the songs will be up on a screen, so don't worry about it if some are unfamiliar - you'll catch on. If you have small children, we provide a safe nursery for our entire service. Our Children's Ministry is available after the announcements (preschool - grade 6), about halfway through the service. Our teachers are godly people and who love to teach children about God's greatness. This ministry is optional, so if you prefer to keep your children with you for the entire service that is fine with us.
Third, we will be focusing upon God - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We often say that our gathering is a huge thank you to God for who He is and all that He has done. You can expect songs and sermons that are always centered on God. At SHF it isn't important how eloquent our pastor preaches or how cutting edge our musicians are. What is important to us? God is.
